2024 Ford F250 is a well-loved pickup that underwent several important changes for the 2024 model year, despite the fact that it just underwent a complete redesign for the 2023 model year. While these changes may not be groundbreaking, potential buyers should be aware of them before placing an order.
The newly released 2024 Ford Super Duty ordering guide provides all the information, including the main features and options available for each of the six trim levels, from XL to Limited.
Engine options for Super Duty 2024 are essentially unchanged from the previous year. The new 6.8 liter V8 engine now offers the flex-fuel capability for “complete pickup”. This means that bedded Super Duty models (excluding chassis cab models) can operate on both regular and E85 fuel.
Two new packages are available for the 2024 Super Duty: the Heavy-Service Package for the Pickup Box Delete (63R) and the Pickup Box Delete. The 360 Degree Camera Package without the Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) Camera has been discontinued altogether.
2024 Ford F250 Review
The 2024 Ford F250 is one of the best-selling vehicles in the Ford range. The Super Duty range is of course a series of heavy-duty pickups and is an extension of the main trucks in the Ford range such as the F-250 and F-550. The fourth generation of the truck is currently the current generation and was first introduced to the world in 2016. However, it is now somewhat outdated, but things are about to change for the truck.
The Super Duty had a slight refresh back in 2020 but for the 2024 model year, we get an all-new Super Duty model. It will be the fifth generation, with a refreshed exterior look and a new, more luxurious interior inside the cabin, and overall, it will be a major overhaul from the previous generation trucks. The reveal is coming soon, so we should know all about the truck soon. Before then, here’s everything we know about the upcoming new version of the Ford Super Duty.
As for what we know about the rest of the truck, there are a few things. We know what the trim levels are set to be for F250 2024, these being the XL, XLT, King Ranch, and Platinum models. To help differentiate the various trim levels, Ford tends to offer different grille and wheel designs as well as different lighting options.
This will allow each trim level to be easily identified. The powertrain is where most of the interest lies in the upcoming truck.
Even at this late stage, it is still a mystery as to what the powertrain of the Super Duty will be. However, there are speculations that Ford will introduce a new V8 engine to the pickup truck.
Specifically, it will be a 6.8-liter V8 engine, with the current iteration having a 7.3-liter Godzilla V8, a 6.2-liter Boss V8, and a 6.7-liter V8 Power Stroke diesel engine. It might even be the engine that ends up in the next-generation Ford Mustang.
2024 6.7 Powerstroke Specs The 6.8-liter V8 should be equipped with both the Godzilla and 2024 Powerstroke Specs diesel.
2024 Ford F250 Specs
2024 F250 Specs: If you don’t need the most towing and hauling capacity available in the newly redesigned Ford F-Series Super Duty lineup, the F-250 may be the perfect truck for you. Choose an extended cab or crew cab with four-wheel drive and one of the available turbocharged diesel engines, and you can tow up to 22,000 pounds conventionally.
The XL conventional cab with two-wheel drive and the standard 6.8-liter V8 can tow an impressive 4,200-pound payload. In addition, Ford offers a variety of technologies to assist you in completing tasks efficiently.
- Spacious and luxurious accommodations
- Excellent figures for transporting and carrying
- Ample available technology to facilitate transport and hauling
- Standard four-wheel drive on most variants.
- The standard 6.8-liter V8 in the XL trim is flex-fuel capable.
- Payload and trailer tongue measurement technology is available on XL and XLT models.
New Ford F250
While it seems like all eyes in the real world are on smaller Blue Oval items, like the Maverick pocket-sized unibody truck, or the upcoming new Ford Mustang S650, virtual reality is not like that.
Of course, there are new developments that require our attention, even as summer comes to an end – like Go Fast Camper’s unique solution to make the Maverick compact pick-up one of the most spacious and practical campers out there looking to make a name for themselves. But cyberspace might be more interesting.
There, it’s all about bigger Blue Oval things, like the cool Bronco Raptor (aka ‘Braptor’) turned three-door Series II SUV with 1980s vintage thinking and 2023/2024 Ford Ranger Raptor DNA.
Or, perhaps, better yet, here are the good folks at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube, who once again envisioned the appearance of the never-released fifth-generation Ford Super Duty, now in various trims.
So, after they digitally thought, initially, that the powerful fifth-generation commercially-oriented vehicle shouldn’t come with a simplified pickup truck design, and even if the F-Series Super Duty Lighting does make an unofficial EV visit, there are now further CGI developments.
So, after first showing off unofficial design thinking in the Lariat trim, the channel pixel masters have gone to work across the range, complete with XL, Limited, Platinum, and King Ranch grades.
Better still, all the envisioned trims get a quick comparison with their older fourth-generation counterparts. On the other hand, the other side of the shield is absent here, as there is only one traditional three-quarter front POV for everything.
So, no interior, no rear view, and no color palette for us, unfortunately, this time. Also, no sign of the powertrain at all.
2024 Ford F250 Refresh
While the 2020 refresh does help pickup trucks, this new model is much needed for the model. The current Super Duty is clearly showing its age and is in desperate need of an update to keep up with the rest of Ford’s pickup line.
These changes and updates will provide a solid platform for Super Duty for years to come. The Super Duty’s full reveal is on September 27, so it won’t be long before we find out what exactly Ford has in store for us here. The powertrain and interior are probably the most significant talking points.
Thankfully, all will be revealed tomorrow.

2024 Ford F250 Interior: From Off-Road Rugged to Head-Turning Style
While we’ve seen plenty of spy shots from the outside, nothing stands out from the interior. However, the word is out that a major refresh is coming for the interiors. Something you would naturally expect.
A center screen of around 12 inches could be featured, no doubt higher trims offer more features such as a digital dashboard. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are expected, perhaps with some luxury offerings from within Ford itself. The interior is certainly an interesting topic of conversation for a Super Duty.
Superior Technical Features
The 2024 Super Duty features notable technological advancements. XLT models with the Premium Package, along with Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited models, now include one year of Connected Navigation services. In addition, the XL and XLT models are available with optional Onboard Scales with Smart Hitch.
Programmable Engine Idle Shutdown (86K) is now an option on XL and XLT models. Certain options, such as Heated Steering Wheel Removal and LED Projector Headlamp Dynamic Bending and Auto Leveling Removal, have been eliminated due to increased supply chain efficiency.
Towing and transporting apparatus
Ford is aware of how you intend to utilize your new Super Duty. This is why the manufacturer offers so many technological features that make towing and carrying simpler. For instance, this year Ford makes its Onboard Scales with Smart Hitch technology available on the XL and XLT trim levels. It prevents owners from overwhelming F-250s.
Other features include Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist, semi-autonomous technologies that assist with hitching and reversing a trailer, respectively. Numerous cameras improve visibility while towing, and the navigation system can even steer you away from roads that are too narrow for your vehicle and trailer.
Exterior: Power to Move Big Things
The spy shots have revealed some changes that we can see on the exterior of the new pickup truck. Thanks to the 2020 refresh, the Ford Super Duty appears to have received only minor aesthetic improvements, bringing it more in line with the rest of Ford’s current pickup truck lineup.
The front fascia will have some updates, such as a new headlamp design a sturdier-looking grille, and more undercarriage. Super Duty is also likely to get a completely new wheel design in 2024.
While the changes to the exterior are not major, they do refresh the design that was first introduced in the 2020 refresh. The front fascia is where the biggest changes lie in the new headlamp design and an updated grille.
A lot of the truck is under camouflage, so it’s hard to gauge what the other changes to the body design particularly the rear end look like. While we can see from some spy images the new taillight design, we won’t have to wait long before the full design is finally revealed.
2024 Ford F250 Color
The 2024 Ford Super Duty introduces two new exterior paint options: Darkened Bronze Metallic and Glacier Gray Metallic Tri-Coat. These colors replace the discontinued Stone Gray and Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat tints.
Models of the Ford F-250 Super Duty
The 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty is available with a 6.75-foot or an 8-foot cargo compartment in regular-cab, extended-cab (SuperCab), and crew-cab (SuperCrew) configurations.

Competitors

The Chevrolet and GMC offer more power and advanced technology, but their towing and carrying capacities still fall short of those of the Ford. In addition, you may want to consider the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty, an attractive truck whose utmost tow and payload capacities are beginning to fall behind.
